Abstract
Mit der Digitalisierung von Dokumenten und damit verbundenen Integrationsbestrebungen von Abläufen und Funktionen ändern sich die Anforderungen an das Dokumentenmanagement, das in Enterprise Content Management (ECM) aufgeht. Untersucht wird das Dokumentenmanagement vor allem aus informationswissenschaftlicher Sicht: Methoden der Informationsgewinnung, Informationsverwaltung in Informationssystemen und Information als Produktionsfaktor. Ein Engpaß ist die Dokumentenerschließung, weil arbeitsintensiv und deshalb kostspielig. Professionelles Dokumentenmanagement erfordert jedoch strategische, zukunftssichernde Entscheidungen.
