Abstract

Diese Festschrift ist Rainer Kuhlen zu seinem 60. Geburtstag gewidmet. Mit ihrem Motto Wissen in Aktion und dem breiten Spektrum der Beiträge, welche die Deutsche Informationswissenschaft und angrenzende Gebiete - Informatik, Wirtschaftsinformatik, Psychologie, Sprachwissenschaft - repräsentieren, spiegelt sie Rainer Kuhlens Arbeitsweise wider: philosophisch begründet, breit interdisziplinär angelegt, auf der Höhe der aktuellen Diskussion. Die Beiträge der Kollegen und ehemaligen Schüler verbindet das Verständnis von Information, als Wissen in Aktion, wie es Rainer Kuhlen formulierte. Die offene Fragestellung berührt nicht nur die Informationswissenschaft, sondern auch die Disziplinen, die ebenfalls Wissen und Wissensmanagement untersuchen. Die Autoren setzen sich mit dem Informationsbegriff auseinander, diskutieren die grundlegende Bedeutung von Information und Kommunikation genauso wie die aktuellen Trends zu E-learning und Visualisierung.
