Abstract
Es mag auf den ersten Blick so scheinen, als ob die Auseinandersetzung mit einem - wie auch immer gearteten - Nichtwissen nicht in die Wissensorganisation gehört. Schließlich beschäftigt sich Wissensorganisation vorrangig mit der Ordnung und Aufbereitung von Wissen. Das was wir wissen - und nicht das was wir nicht wissen - soll in diesem Sinne umfassend registriert, klassifiziert und entsprechend organisiert werden. Mit dem Ziel, verlässlich darauf zurückgreifen, es also nutzen zu können. Demgegenüber wird in der Auseinandersetzung mit Arbeiten zu den Grundlagen der Wissensorganisation erkennbar, dass gerade die Wissensorganisation mit Überlegungen zum Nichtwissen in Beziehung gesetzt werden kann. Im Folgenden möchte ich skizzieren, in welcher Weise das Nichtwissen in der Grundlegung bzw. Zielsetzung der Wissensorganisation Berücksichtigung findet. Ich werde also der Frage nachgehen, wie Nichtwissen explizit oder implizit in die Konzeption der Wissensorganisation eingeht. Darüber hinaus sollen aber auch Überlegungen angestellt werden, in welcher Weise die Organisation von Wissen problematisch wird, wenn das Nichtwissen keine Berücksichtigung findet. Dazu werde ich zunächst auf einige Aspekte des Verständnisses von Wissensorganisation eingehen, wie es von Ewald Kiel und Friedrich Rost vorgetragen wird (I), und weitere drei Dimensionen des Nichtwissens vorstellen (II), um diese anschließend hinsichtlich ihrer Bedeutung für die Wissensorganisation zu diskutieren (III).
