Abstract
Für diese Auflage wurde das "Bibliothekarische Grundwissen" völlig neu bearbeitet. Die Kapitel "elektronische Publikationen" und "lnformationssuche im Internet' wurden erweitert. Die ursprüngliche Zielsetzung des Buches gilt auch für die 7. Auflage: Es gibt eine Einführung in grundlegende Begriffe, Fakten und Zusammenhänge des heutigen Bibliothekswesens unter besonderer Berücksichtigung der wichtigsten bibliothekarischen Arbeitsvorgänge. Die Aufgaben und Arbeitsmethoden von Bibliotheken und Bibliothekaren bei der Literaturversorgung und Literaturinformation beziehen sich heute auf zwei "Welten": die Welt der Bücher und die Welt der digitalen Information, was sich auch in der 7. Auflage des "Bibliothekarischen Grundwissens" widerspiegelt. Das Buch ist in erster Linie als Lehrbuch für die Studienund Berufsanfänger in der bibliothekarischen Ausbildung oder Praxis gedacht, deshalb wurde auf klare und verständliche Darstellung besonderer Wert gelegt. Das "Bibliothekarische Grundwissen" stellt aber auch für jeden an Literatur und am Bibliothekswesen interessierten Laien ein wichtiges und nützliches Nachschlagewerk dar
