Abstract

Seit nunmehr zehn Jahren werden an der Deutschen Nationalbibliothek (DNB) elektronische Dissertationen und Habilitationen gesammelt und archiviert. Mittlerweile verzeichnet die Deutsche Nationalbibliografie mehr als 60.000 Onlinedissertationen, auf die zu großen Teilen jederzeit und von überall frei zugegriffen werden kann. Gemeinsam mit Partnern aus verschiedenen Bereichen, vornehmlich aus dem universitären Umfeld, wurde in mehreren Projekten die Idee des elektronischen Publizierens von Dissertationen und Habilitationen vorangetrieben. Sowohl praktische, technische als auch rechtliche Aspekte wurden auf mittlerweile sieben DissOnlineWorkshops zwischen Vertretern von Universitätsbibliotheken, Fakultäten, Rechenzentren, Verlagen und Autoren diskutiert und weiterentwickelt. Auf der Webseite von DissOnline werden diese Informationen für alle interessierten Personen und Einrichtungen zugänglich gemacht.
