Abstract
Die Retrokonversion des nach den Preußischen Instruktionen (PI) geführten alten Zettelkatalogs (1,8 Mio. Titelkarten) der Universitätsbibliothek der TU Berlin wurde weitgehend automatisiert durchgeführt: Scannen der Titelkarten, OCR-Bearbeitung und Abgleich am Retro-VK. Die Besonderheit bei diesem Projekt war die manuelle Bearbeitung der gescannten Titelkarten (Images), die bibliotheksintern vor der OCR-Bearbeitung durchgeführt wurde. Diese Imagebearbeitung war die entscheidende Voraussetzung dafür, dass die Nachweise aus dem Zettelkatalog später in den regulären OPAC eingespielt werden konnten. Bei der Imagebearbeitung wurden die Titelkarten klassifiziert sowie die besitzende Zweigstelle und die Signatur erfasst. Über die Klassifizierung wurden die OCR-Bearbeitung und die späteren Nacharbeiten im OPAC gesteuert. Die Zweigstelle und die Signatur waren für den Dublettenabgleich mit den im OPAC bereits enthaltenen Nachweisen erforderlich. Das Projekt konnte im Januar 2005 erfolgreich abgeschlossen werden.
