»Hi!« hat einer gesagt, »ist es okay, wenn wir dich duzen? Willst du lieber in Englisch lesen? Gut, bis hierhin bist du vorgedrungen durch das labyrinthische Netzwerk des WWW. War es Mundpropaganda oder ein Link, bist du wahllos oder zielgerichtet durchs WWW gereist? Egal, jetzt bist du hier, und wir freuen uns, dass du nicht sofort weitergesprungen bist.« Wen kümmert's? Gleichgültig wie diese Passage zunächst zu werten ist - als paratextuelles Direkt-Marketing für den Internet-Roman Spielzeugland oder als dessen erzählerischer Anfang - der geduzte Leser fühlt sich unwillkürlich an das Konzept postmoderner Klassiker erinnert. So notiert der Erfolgsautor Flannery, eine Schlüsselfigur aus Italo Calvinos Roman Wenn ein Reisender in einer Winternacht.
