Abstract
Im Zuge fortschreitender Globalisierung und der Entwicklung der Informationsgesellschaft stehen die Geisteswissenschaften vor neuen Herausforderungen. Persönliche und kollektive Netzwerke sowie Forscherverbünde müssen mit den Mitteln der Informations- und Kommunikationstechnik (IKT) effizient nutzbar gemacht werden. Neue Formen von Publikationen, erweiterte Medienangebote und Digitale Bibliotheken verändern die Grunddispositionen der Wissenschaften momentan erheblich. All diese neuen Entwicklungen in einem Webportal zusammenzuführen ist das Anliegen von Edumeres.net - einem Projekt des Georg-Eckert-Instituts in Braunschweig. Zentrales Element des Portals wird dabei eine Virtuelle Arbeitsund Forschungsumgebung sein, die es Arbeitsgruppen im Netzwerk der internationalen Bildungsmedienforschung ermöglicht, gemeinsame Forschungsprozesse von der ersten Idee über die gemeinsame Arbeit an Texten bis zur fertigen Publikation durchzuführen.
