Abstract
Das Internet führt zu einem Wandel der Kommunikationsräume, in denen wissenschaftlicher Diskurs betrieben wird. Auffällig ist, dass das Kernmedium der deutschsprachigen Informationswissenschaften, die Zeitschrift, noch immer durch das Trägermedium Papier dominiert wird. Dadurch bleiben Chancen der digitalen Wissenschaftskommunikation ungenutzt. Der Beitrag beschreibt den Status Quo der deutschsprachigen informationswissenschaftlichen Fachkommunikation und weist auf Desiderate hin. Darüber hinaus werden aktuelle Entwicklungen der digitalen Wissenschaftskommunikation aufgezeigt. Auf Basis von diesen formuliert der Beitrag acht Kriterien, die ein informationswissenschaftliches Journal der Zukunft prägen sollten.
