Abstract

Der Bayerische Bibliotheksverbund (BVB) und der Kooperative Bibliotheksverbund Berlin-Brandenburg (KOBV) haben sich zur Entwicklung innovativer Verbunddienstleistungen in einer strategischen Allianz organisiert. Sie unterstützen alle Initiativen, die sich einer operativen Optimierung und innovationsorientierten Weiterentwicklung der regionalen und überregionalen Informationsinfrastrukturen verpflichtet sehen. Daher begrüßen sie ausdrücklich, dass der Wissenschaftsrat in seinen jüngsten "Empfehlungen zur Zukunft des bibliothekarischen Verbundsystems in Deutschland" - die essentielle Bedeutung der lokalen wissenschaftlichen Bibliotheken als einen wichtigen Teil der Informationsinfrastruktur herausgestellt und in diesem Zusammenhang die Relevanz beschrieben hat, die dem bibliothekarischen Verbundsystem als Dienstleister für wissenschaftliche Bibliotheken zukommt', - die klare Forderung erhoben hat, dass die Tendenz, dass die kommerziellen Anbieter von integrierten Bibliothekssystemen zukünftig noch stärker auf globaler Ebene agieren werden, nicht dazu führen darf, dass die Bedürfnisse lokaler wissenschaftlicher Bibliotheken nicht mehr ausreichend berücksichtigt werden. Die Kooperationspartner sind übereinstimmend der Ansicht, dass die Rolle der Bibliotheken sowohl als Partner als auch als Kunden der Verbünde in einem überregionalen und nationalen Rahmen gestärkt werden muss - in dieser Ausrichtung aaiert bereits die strateaische Partnerschaft zwischen BVB und KOBV.
