Abstract

Vom 9. bis 12. März 2011 fand in Hildesheim das 12. Internationale Symposium der Informationswissenschaft (ISI) statt. Alle zwei Jahre treffen sich Forscher, Doktoranden und Studierende der höheren Fachsemester, um sich über die jüngsten Ergebnisse und die zukünftigen Forschungsschwerpunkte auf dem Gebiet der Informationswissenschaft auszutauschen. Unter dem Motto "Information und Wissen: global, sozial und frei?" wurden 40 Hauptvorträge sowie Beiträge von Studenten und Promovierenden präsentiert. Von insgesamt 90 Einreichungen wurde somit etwa die Hälfte für die Tagung angenommen. Bei der diesjährigen ISI konnte eine zunehmende Internationalisierung festgestellt werden. So fanden sich unter allen Gästen und Besuchern auch Wissenschaftler aus Finnland, Dänemark, Korea, Iran und Indien. Insgesamt haben laut Teilnehmerliste 232 Personen an der Tagung teilgenommen. Veranstaltet wurde die Konferenz in den Räumen der Universität Hildesheim unter der Leitung von Christa Womser-Hacker, in Zusammenarbeit mit Joachim Griesbaum und Thomas Mandl.
