Abstract

Der Artikel gibt ein breit gefasstes Fazit über die Evaluationen digitaler Bibliotheksangebote, die im Rahmen des Verbundprojekts e-lib.ch in der Schweiz durchgeführt wurden. Er schildert die dabei verwendeten Methoden und ihre Besonderheit im bibliothekarischen Kontext und greift zurück auf verallgemeinbare Ergebnisse, die während eines Zeitraums von mehr als drei Jahren bei der Ermittlung der Gebrauchstauglichkeit und des Nutzungswertes unterschiedlichster digitaler Angebote (u.a. Metakataloge, Informationsportale, Manuskriptdatenbanken und digitalisierte Rara-Bestände) gewonnen wurden. Von besonderem Interesse soll dabei auch sein, wie sich Bibliotheken zukünftig in ihrem Alltag sowie mit ähnlich ausgerichteten Projekten zu positionieren haben, um bereits in der Projektplanung den Anforderungen eines benutzerorientierten Gestaltungsprozesses ihrer digitalen Angebote gerecht zu werden. Darüber hinaus spielen auch Überlegungen zum Do-it-yourself vs. einer externen Beauftragung von Evaluationen eine Rolle.
