Abstract

Die Retrokonversion der konventionellen Ostasienkataloge der Bayerischen Staatsbibliothek hat Anfang 2012 ihren erfolgreichen Abschluss gefunden. Damit sind sämtliche chinesische, japanische und koreanische Titel der Bayerischen Staatsbibliothek über deren Online-Katalog, über den Verbundkatalog des Bibliotheksverbunds Bayern (Gateway Bayern) und über WorldCat elektronisch nachgewiesen. Rund 166.000 Katalogkarten vor 1990 erschienener ostasiatischer Titel wurden bearbeitet und ca. 90.000 Datensätze von einem externen Dienstleister sowohl in Originalschrift als auch in Umschrift elektronisch erfasst. Der Artikel beschreibt das gewählte Verfahren, die wesentlichen Etappen und die besonderen Herausforderungen der Retrokonversion dieser Spezialkataloge, mit der die elektronische Erfassung der konventionellen Alphabetischen Kataloge der Bayerischen Staatsbibliothek insgesamt abgeschlossen werden konnte.
