Abstract
Suchmaschinen sind auf der einen Seite technische Werkzeuge, auf der anderen Seite erlangen sie durch die millionenfache tägliche Nutzung eine gesellschaftliche Bedeu-tung. Im dritten Band des Handbuch Internet-Suchmaschinen bieten führende Exper-ten aus Wissenschaft und Praxis einen Einblick in aktuelle Entwicklungen, neue Techno-logien und gesellschaftliche Auswirkungen der populären Suchdienste. Mit mittlerweile drei Bänden liegt das umfassendste deutschsprachige Werk zum The-ma Suchmaschinen vor, das alle wesentlichen Aspekte des Themas behandelt. Das Themenspektrum der bereits erschienenen Bände wird noch einmal wesentlich erwei-tert; wichtige Themen aus den vorangegangenen Bänden werden vertieft dargestellt. Damit ist das Handbuch auch ein unverzichtbares Nachschlagewerk zu allen Fragen rund um Suchmaschinen. Das Buch richtet sich an alle, die sich als Forscher, Entwickler oder Nutzer von Suchma-schinen mit dem Thema Suche beschäftigen.
