Abstract

Spätestens mit der Einführung des Rundfunks in Deutschland am 29. Oktober 1923 lässt sich die Entwicklung des vergangenen Jahrhunderts nicht nur in Büchern nachlesen, sondern vor allem auch nach-hören oder in der Rückschau betrachten. Dies gilt insbesondere für die jüngeren Generationen, die viele Geschehnisse der vergangenen Jahrzehnte nur aus (ggf. schriftlichen) Berichten oder mündlichen Erzählungen kennen. Die audiovisuelle Überlieferung im Deutschen Rundfunkarchiv (DRA) wie auch in den jeweiligen Archiven der Landesrundfunkanstalten ist eine von mehreren Überlieferungssträngen der Geschichte. Welche Bestände an den beiden Standorten des DRA für die Nutzung bereit stehen und welche archivischen Dienstleistungen von der Langzeitsicherung bis zur Endarchivierung im Deutschen Rundfunkarchiv angeboten werden, ist im nachfolgenden Beitrag dargestellt.
