Abstract
Als Reaktion auf die mit fortschreitender Internationalisierung sich wandelnden Anforderungen an Informationsräume und Wissensorganisationssysteme haben sich verschiedene Modelle semantischer Interoperabilität herausgebildet, die darauf abzielen, mittels einer Verbindung von Begriffen verbreiteter Dokumentationssprachen eine Grundlage für effizientere Recherchen in heterogenen Informationsräumen zu schaffen. Diese können sowohl in Hinblick auf die in ihnen enthaltenen Eigenschaften zur Unterstützung von Suchprozessen als auch nach Art der Datenhaltung differenziert werden. Im Artikel werden die unterschiedlichen Interoperabilitätskonzepte und ihr jeweiliger Mehrwert für den thematischen Zugriff auf Informationen vorgestellt. Das Potential integrierter begrifflicher Interoperabilität insbes. zur Unterstützung von explorativen Suchprozessen wird unter Rückgriff auf die in dem DFG-Projekt CrissCross erstellten Mappings zwischen der Schlagwortnormdatei (SWD) und der Dewey-Dezimalklassifikation (DDC) veranschaulicht.
