Abstract

escribes the combination of a PC bulletin board software (PCBoard) with a shareware program (Doorway) to allow remote users access to local area network mounted CD-ROM databases at Rutgers Cooperative extension Service, Dept. of Agriculture, based in New Jersey. Although the system is rather slow (depending on modem speed), and cannot support graphics; the CD-ROM bulletin board software approach offers considerable oppotunities
