Abstract

"Die Open Knowledge Foundation Österreich setzt sich für offene Daten, freies Wissen, Transparenz und Beteiligung ein. Um diese Ziele zu erreichen, engagiert sie sich öffentlich für diese Themen und entwickelt einschlägige Technologien, Trainings, Projekte und Veranstaltungen. Die gemeinnützige Organisation ist Teil eines internationalen-Netzwerks und vereint Expertise aus verschiedenen Disziplinen und Institutionen wie Wissenschaft, Wirtschaft, Zivilgesellschaft und Verwaltung. Mit einem interdisziplinären Ansatz realisiert sie Lösungen für komplexe Themen und unterstützt wirtschaftliche Wertschöpfung und eine offene Wissensgesellschaft."1 Ich versuche mit diesem Text ein möglichst gesamtheitliches Bild der Open Knowledge Foundation, ihrer Struktur und ihrer Handlungsweisen zu geben. Diese relativ freie Arbeitsweise der Open Knowledge Foundation macht es möglich, in einer völlig neuartigen Entwicklung, welche aufgrund der Erschließung eines neuen Mediums zukünftige Gesellschaftsstrukturen maßgeblich beeinflussen wird, dynamisch zu reagieren. Durch die Orientierung auf die Prozesse dieser Organisation können äußerst fruchtbare Emergenzen entstehen und so der Wandel in der Gesellschaft mitgestaltet werden.
