Abstract

Der »Netzwerk«-Begriff ist in den letzten Jahren zu einer kulturellen Leitmetapher der modernen Gesellschaft und ihrer Wissenschaften avanciert. Dieser Band diskutiert die Frage der Universalität der Netzwerkmetapher in den Wissenschaften. Er bietet einen bisher einmaligen transdisziplinären Überblick zur Anwendung des Netzwerkkonzepts in einem breiten Spektrum von Fachgebieten, das von der Wissenschaftsgeschichte über die Linguistik, Informationswissenschaft, Soziologie und Ökonomie bis hin zur Biologie und den Neurowissenschaften reicht, und verknüpft methodisch-theoretische Einführungen mit aufschlussreichen Fallbeispielen.
