Abstract
Der Beitrag analysiert die Aktivitäten deutscher Bibliotheken drei Jahre nach der sehr kritischen Berichterstattung in den Medien über Predatory Publishing ("Wissenschaftsskandal") dahingehend, wie sie über das Thema Fake Science informieren und Wissenschaftler*innen unterstützen. Dies geschieht vorwiegend in spezifischen Veranstaltungen, die vor allem die Zielgruppen erreichen, die zumindest rudimentär schon sensibilisiert sind. Vorgestellt werden die Ergebnisse einer Befragung unter Teaching Librarians dazu, wie sie ihre Kompetenzen zur Erkennung von Fake Science einschätzen und wie sie ihre Rolle und die Aufgaben der Bibliotheken bei der Bekämpfung von Fake Science sehen. Der Beitrag diskutiert Best-Practice-Beispiele für die Förderung einer kritischen Informationskompetenz in Bibliotheken auf Basis des Frameworks Informationskompetenz, die weit über die Vermittlung von Recherchefähigkeiten hinausgeht.
