Abstract
Die Gemeinsame Normdatei (GND) ist aus dem Bibliothekswesen nicht mehr wegzudenken und wird künftig verstärkt auch in anderen Einrichtungen aus Kultur und Wissenschaft zum Einsatz kommen. Von entscheidender Bedeutung für ihre Weiterentwicklung ist die kooperative Redaktionstätigkeit der im deutschsprachigen Raum tätigen Verbundpartner*innen, die im vorliegenden Beitrag näher vorgestellt wird. Nach einem kurzen historischen Überblick werden die Schwerpunkte und Besonderheiten der gegenwärtigen Terminologiearbeit anhand von Beispielen veranschaulicht. Im Anschluss daran wird der Frage nachgegangen, wie die Redaktionsarbeit an der GND an zukünftige Herausforderungen (z. B. den zunehmenden Einsatz maschineller Erschließung und die Vernetzung mit anderen Vokabularen) angepasst werden kann.
