Abstract

Access to auction houses sales catalogues is essential to the work of art dealers, appraisers, museum curators, art lawyers and other professionals involved in the art world. Outlines a system for expanded subject cataloguing of sales catalogues in smaller, special libraries focusing on the classification system developed for the library of O'Toole-Ewald Art Associates in New York. This system using the Art and Architecture Thesaurus was designed to provide maximum subject access to sales catalogues
