Abstract

An electronic bulletin board system (BBS) is a cost effective way to rapidly distribute information online. Describes how a BBS is operated, the services available and how they are assessed. Discusses electronic mail, the format of bulletins and file libraries. Offers guidance on the installation of a BBS covering software; the configurations that will handle multiple phone lines including multiple processors on a network and external multitasking; the hardware configuration of serial ports and modems
