Abstract

The alignment of information architectures with business strategies is needed for organizations to achieve global preeminence. Past architectures have been limited to computer based aspects of information technology. Broadens this view by including the functional aspects (data, voice, image and video transmission) of information technologies. 5 information architectures are feasible for global corporations. Provides examples of companies using theses architectures. Compares these architectures using cost variables. Provides a means for researchers and managers to classify and evaluate the current architectures used in global corporations, and plan future architectures
