Abstract

Demonstrates a university library's need for a multi-purpose reformatting program, capable of converting record formats of many diverse databases to a multitude of personal database formats. One such program, HEADFORM, is used to test record conversion from 1 CD-ROM and 4 online databases to 3 researchers' personal databases on PC, and to determine time savings by transferring records electronically instead of manually. Results show that records can be converted successfully and that significant time savings are possible
