Abstract

The more precise and exact and information system becomes, the greater the chances of confusion. Discusses the effect of indexing and search techniques on information system efficiency in organisations; the problem of false drops and un-retrieved relevant documents; and the improvement of precision (by truncation, controlled vocabulary, term weighting, and relating a term with its context)
