Describes the experience of the University of Maryland at College Park (UMCP) Libraries in using OCLC's FirstSearch Catalog. Covers issues such as database or file duplication between CD-ROM and online services like FirstSearch, establishing card sales policies and procedures, and increased file usage. Also demonstrates how UMCP librarians conducted their FirstSearch field test and advertised the FirstSearch catalog
