Abstract

The results of many new developments in technology is that librarians and library users are increasingly accessing many information sources with little background knowledge or assistance. New retrieval tools and techniques are therefore essential given the huge quantity of materials available. Looks at books; journals and conference proceedings, published in the UK since 1990, in the following areas: computerized information systems; retrieval management; multimedia; virtual reality; networking; and periodicals
