Abstract
Bibliothekarische Theoriebildung findet weiterhin im Paradigma der Informationswissenschaft statt, ohne daß es bislang zu einer konstruktiver Auseinandersetzung mit konkurrierenden Theorien gekommen wäre. Der vorliegende Beitrag stellt die Dominanz des informationswissenschaftlichen Paradigmas in Frage, indem er die theoretischen Grundlagen rekonstruiert und mit dem hermeneutischen und dekonstruktivistischen Paradigma vergleicht. Dabei zeigt sich die Informationswissenschaft, wie sie von Bibliothekaren vertreten wird, als Wiederkehr der Hermeneutik, die in den Bibliotheken einen 'Geist' hypostasierte, der informationswissenschaftlich zum 'Sender' wurde. Solche Geist-Metaphysik negiert der Dekonstruktivismus, der Bücher als das nimmt, was sie sind: gebundenes Papier. Eine sachgemäße Theorie der Bibliothek hätte dieses Sachverhalts eingedenk zu sein und Bibliotheken als Speicherhallen für 'Bücher' genannte Sachen zu rekonstruieren
