Abstract

Discusses the retrieval of operational information for electronics-based products. In particular, examnines online documentations systems for computer applications and analyzes their deficiencies, notably their passivity. Such systems should take an active role and assist the user by dynamically adapting the information to the user's specific task. Describes the architecture of an Intelligent Help System, based on artificial intelligence techniques, that takes these issues into account
