Abstract

Describes a 2 year project to convert the catalogue of 7 faculty libraries at Seville University, Spain, in which it was decided to combine 2 methods: inhouse conversion and the use of external sources. Notes how the OCLC services MICROCON and RETROCON have been used, and details a number of problems encountered, e.g. DOBIS standards vis a vis MARC standards, and problems to do with Spanish cataloguing rules and AACR2. Briefly mentions cooperative plans among Andalusian university libraries
