Abstract

Nachdem das Forschungsnetz Internet weltweit eine enorme Zuwachsrate aufweist und stets neue Angebote im elektronischen Informationsraum auftauchen, ist aus Benutzersicht ein wachsendes bedürfnis nach Hilfsmitteln zur Orientierung im Netz anzumelden. Neben Navigationshilfen wie Gopher und World Wide Web sind dür einen gezielten Einstieg Themenbäume (subject trees), fachspezifische Server und spezielle Diskussionslisten (Mailing lists, Newsgroups) von große Bedeutung. Es werden Beispiele für den Landwirtschaftsbereich vorgestellt. Um das deutschsprachige Angebot effizient nutzen zu können, schlägt der Autor vor, einen Wegweiser-Dienst für agrawissenschaftliche Information, AGUILDE, zu schaffen
