Abstract

Describes the setting up of the new library at Tilburg University, which opened in 1992. The aim was to have a library of the future which could take full advantage of new technologies. Lists key elements in the planning stage and results achieved, and summarizes success factors of the project. In future years emphasis will be placed on electronic document delivery, full text databases, improvement of the user interface, knowledge navigation and the creation of a colour image bank
