- Abstract
- Based on experiences at the University of Western Australian Library, it has become evident that LCSH are not acceptable for Australian and/or academic usage. The problems of the list as a documentary language will be examined with consideration of such problems as choice of acceptable terminology, the structure of the list and ways in which libraries can develop theories and co-operative efforts in these areas. There will be reference to the implementation of various suggestions in both a manula and machine environment
