- Abstract
- Reports on a survey of academic use of the Internet. It was sent to 231 randomly chosen discussion groups from a list of Scholarly Electronic Conferences on the Internet. 1.536 surveys were completed and returned. Survey questions included generation questions about computer expertise, frequency of electronic mail utilization, access to various telnet sites, frequency of connections to a variety of Internet sources, access to several file transfer protocol locations, use of navigational aids and open ended questions covering the importance and use of the Internet to the survey respondents.
