    Abstract
    As electronic, monetary, and human resources dwindle, library materials waiting to be catalogued increase in volume and complexity. Scrutinizes the cataloguing process investgating time and effort expended and describes how at the University of Illinois at Chicago, the entire copy cataloguing process was observed, with 8 participants.
