    Abstract
Any information manager has to make decisions about the purchase of online, CD-ROM and Internet services, but in order to do this must decide how to incorporate these different elements into a cohesive package for the provision of data. Looks at the advantages and disadvantages of each medium and argues that by using a combination of approaches it is possible to provide flexibility, ease of use and access in a cost effective way. Explains how to best assess the needs of users

    Abstract
Discusses the origins of the Internet, what is available on the Internet and searching the Internet. Describes how SilverPlatter has cooperated in making its Electronic Reference Library databases and retrieval technology interoperable with OPACs, new retrieval software and Mosaic. Also discusses a pilot project, the Electronic Academic Reference Library, to create a new information service offering multiple interface access to bibliographic information over the SuperJANET network
