    Abstract
    In einem vom Ministerium für Familie, Kinder, Jugend, Kultur und Sport des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen für zwei Jahre finanzierten Pilotprojekt wurden die Katalogoberflächen von 24 ausgewählten Bibliotheken in Nordrhein-Westfalen (NRW) mit LibraryThing for Libraries-Elementen versehen? Im Folgenden soll das Landesprojekt vorgestellt werden. Neben dem aktuellen Projektstand werden anfängliche Schwierigkeiten und bisherige Erfolge beschrieben. Das Projekt sollte möglichst viele der in Deutschland verbreiteten Bibliothekssysteme beinhalten, sodass die erlangten Erkenntnisse auch von zahlreichen weiteren Bibliotheken nachgenutzt werden können.

    In zahlreichen Social Cataloging-Plattformen haben Nutzer die Möglichkeit, ihre Buchsammlung zu präsentieren und sich über diese auszutauschen. Bekannte Beispiele sind Lovelybooks, Goodreads oder Shelfari. Die weltweit größte Community trifft sich auf LibraryThing. Neben der öffentlichen Plattform bietet LibraryThing auch entgeltpflichtige Kataloganreicherungen für Bibliotheken - LibraryThing for Libraries. Dirk Ehlen und Simon Brenner berichten im Folgenden über das Produkt.

    Abstract
    Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit wurde ein Web-Content-Management-System (WCMS) entwickelt, welches Bibliotheken auch mit geringen finanziellen und personellen Mitteln erlaubt, eine attraktive Website zu erstellen, die ohne HTML-Kenntnisse einfach und zeitnah aktualisiert werden kann. Als Komplettlösung, die das Ziel verfolgt, den das System nutzenden Bibliotheken sämtliche administrativen Tätigkeiten abzunehmen, wird das System den Bibliotheken dem Software-Bereitstellungs-Modell "Software-as-a-Service" entsprechend, auf einem von einem Dienstleister betriebenen Webserver gegen eine Mietgebühr bereitgestellt und ist auf diese Weise sofort und ohne spezielles IT-Fachwissen nutzbar.
