    Abstract
    This article describes one manager's experience in hosting a Basic Serials Cataloging Workshop, sponsored by the Serials Cataloging Cooperative Training Program. SCCTP provides an effective yet economical way for library staff to receive authoritative training in this most essential aspect of library service.
