- Abstract
- Reference service exist to help the less adroit and the less skilled person find information and their fundamental value lies in equity of access to information. Voices concern about the new barriers to information and the restrictive practices arising out of pressures and resource limitations that may negatively influence the attitudes and library use patterns of children and young people for years to come. Describes those areas in which young people are being excluded and discusses the role of youth service librarians in discouraging discrimination and in maintaining contact with adult services or academic libraries
