Abstract: Bennenung und Begriff von 'Wissen' spielen im Bereich der Klassifikation eine wesentliche Rolle, da Klassifikationssysteme und Thesauri als Wissensordnungen verstanden werden können, deren Komponenten Wissenseinheiten (Begriffe) sind und diese wiederum aus Wissenselementen (Merkmalen) bestehen. In der Terminologie des Gebiets der Künstlichen Intelligenz tauchen nunmehr ebenfalls Komposita mit 'Wissen' auf. Es wird versucht, den augenfälligen Berührungspunkten dieser beiden Tätigkeitsbereiche nachzugehen und die Folgerungen aus dem 'know-how' beider Richtungen im Sinne einer möglichen gegenseitigen Hilfestellung aufzuzeigen
