- Abstract
- Like many other foreign names Ethiopian personal names pose problems in cataloging because of their unique form and composition. People other than Ethiopians might not even be aware of this problem. AACR2 and IFLA's document on personal names are also not much help in this regard. This paper attempts to deal with the unique problem of cataloging Ethiopian names and the necessity of using transliteration techniques for easy filing and exhaustive retrieval.
