- Abstract
- It is important to ensure data integrity, consistency and safety in a new data bank. The Systematischer Katalog-Musikalien (The Classified Catalogue of Musical Scores) in the music department of the Deutsche Staatsbibliothek (East German national library) was first produced in computerised form over a year ago. The programme permits many automated checks and controls concerning the correctness and completeness of stored data. Other checking procedures are performed by staff at the keyboard. At present the data bank contains over 3.000 entries for composers, titles and subjects.
