    Abstract
    Contribution to an issue devoted to assessment and accountability in reference work. Through the reference interview and bibliographic instruction, librarians have the opportunity to familiarize students with the vast power of CD-ROMs, to teach them to harness that power, and to provide them with the critical skills necessary to question whether a particular CD-ROM database is the appropriate place to find information on a certain topic.
