- Kanitscheider stellt die philosophischen Konsequenzen der heute gültigen grundlegenden physikalischen Theorie dar. Das Buch präsentiert das naturwissenschaftliche Weltbild, wie es sich in der philosophischen Reflexion darbietet. - Abstract
- Für jene, die an Geister glauben, an die Zweckhaftigkeit der Natur, an die Lenkung der Geschichte durch einen Weltgeist, die auf magische Therapien schwören - für alle diese Menschen dürfte der Band eine unerhörte Provokation sein. Der Autor (zuletzt BA 9/88) befaßt sich mit Stationen in der wissenschaftlichen und philosophischen Entwicklung, insbesondere mit der von Max Weber konstatierten Entzauberung der Welt und mit Rettungsversuchen des objektiven Sinns. In letzteren sieht Kanitscheider nur unredliche intellektuelle Auswege und metaphysische Illusionen. Er rät dem Leser, sich mit der Endlichkeit zufriedenzugeben. Schließlich verlöre das Leben keineswegs seinen Sinn, bloß weil es nicht ewig währt. Gegenpol zur esoterischen Bücherschwemme.
