    Abstract
    Expresses the belief that a generally acceptable comprehensive information model of the organization is essential to the development of both practice and research in information management. Points the way towards such a model and outlines the general criteria it should meet. A wide ranging, eclectic approach is essential because several disciplines other than library and information science have important contributions to make.     Abstract
    This work uses a background of business studies and the existence of ever-changing business reference works as a starting point from which to examine the various sources of business information - standards, trade and research organizations, libraries etc. Examines information needs and sources against the business environment, structure and methods in which information needs arise.
