    Abstract
    Für eine fiktive Dokumentmenge wird eine Dokument-Wort-Matrix erstellt und mittels zweier Suchanfragen, ebenfalls als Matrix dargestellt, die Retrievalergebnisse ermittelt. Den Wörtern der Dokumentmenge werden in einem zweiten Schritt Aspekte zugeordnet und die Untersuchung erneut durchgeführt. Ein Vergleich bestätigt die schon früher gefundenen Vorteile des aspektischen Indexierung gegenüber anderen Methoden der Retrievalverbesserung, wie Trunkierung und Controlled Terms

    Abstract
    Wie kann man den Inhalt eines Buches kurz wiedergeben? Davon und von anderen allgemeinen Methoden und Hilfsmitteln zur Verdichtung des Inhaltes von Informationsquellen (Literatur, Archivalien, audio-visuelles Material u.a.m.) wird hier berichtet. Dabei geht es um theoretische Grundlagen und praktische Anwendungen, Bewertungen sowie traditionelle und automatische Verfahren. Die Verdichtung einer Informationsquelle wird 'inhaltliche Erschließung' genannt. Durch sie wird eine Informationsquelle sozusagen 'veredelt'. Praktisch heißt das, inhaltliche Erschließung macht Informationen mittels Inhaltsverdichtung und Ordnung erst zugänglich bzw. erhöht bei einer Informationssuche (Recherche) die Zugriffsgeschwindigkeit auf Informationen um ein Vielfaches gegenüber nichterschlossenen Informationsquellen. In vereinfachender Darstellung werden hier Berufsanfängern und weiteren Interessierten wesentliche Erkenntnisse auf diesem Gebiet anschaulich vermittelt. Diese neuartige, stringente Darstellung der Thematik dürfte aber auch bei 'alten Hasen' zu neuen Einsichten führen, besonders auf terminologischem Gebiet
