- Alerts librarians to directions in research in artificial intelligence relevant to information retrieval which will change current technology and user expectations and consequently the requirements for data provision and access at the base level. Predicts a reevaluation of priorities for using the expertise of cataloguers (and reference librarians) and of cataloguing methodologies.
