- Abstract
- Im Mittelpunkt dieser Arbeit steht das Projekt Einheitsklassifikation der Arbeitsstelle für das Bibliothekswesen (AfB), das die bibliothekarische Öffentlichkeit während der Zeit von 1969 bis 1977 intensiv beschäftigte. Dieser erfolglos beendete Versuch zur Durchsetzung einer einhetlichen klassifikatorischen Sacherschließung für die Bibliotheken in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland steht in der Tradition früher schon gescheiterter Unternehmungen mit ähnlicher Zielsetzung. In anderer Hinsicht wurde mit ihm auch neues, bisher nicht erreichtes Terrain betreten.
