- The Internet now provides access to so much information that it is a problem to know what is available and how to navigate through it. The Wide Area Information Server (WAIS) is one project aiming to help solve the problem for the end user, by means of a graphical user inferface and the use of natural language for queries, which is then translated into the WAIS protocol.
